Les auteurs constatent que si une plus grande intégration financière mondiale est avantageuse, les entrées de capitaux étrangers peuvent également favoriser l’accentuation des vulnérabilités financières au pays et sont susceptibles d’entraîner des renversements déstabilisateurs. La position extérieure actuelle du Canada est typique d’une économie avancée et continuera sans doute à agir comme stabilisateur économique. Toutefois, la croissance et la composition de cette position doivent faire l’objet d’une surveillance continue. -
The Share of Systematic Variations in the Canadian Dollar—Part II
Dans cette note analytique, nous cherchons à déterminer dans quelle mesure la variation systématique du dollar canadien s’explique par la sensibilité de ce dernier aux prix des produits de base. Nous créons un portefeuille « pétrolier » qui rend compte des variations systématiques lorsque les taux de change de pays exportateurs de produits de base et de pays importateurs de ces produits évoluent dans des directions opposées.
