The Impacts of Minimum Wage Increases on the Canadian Economy
Dans cette note, nous examinons les canaux par lesquels les hausses du salaire minimum prévues dans les années à venir pourraient influer sur l’activité économique et l’inflation au Canada, et nous évaluons l’incidence macroéconomique de ces augmentations. À partir d’estimations de la transmission directe des variations du salaire minimum dans un modèle de forme réduite, nous constatons que l’inflation mesurée par l’indice des prix à la consommation (IPC) pourrait progresser d’environ 0,1 point de pourcentage en moyenne en 2018. -

Wage Dynamics and Returns to Unobserved Skill
Les économistes ne s’entendent pas sur le choix des facteurs qui sont à l’origine de l’augmentation importante des inégalités résiduelles de salaire observée aux États-Unis depuis les dernières décennies. Nous identifions et estimons les paramètres d’un modèle général des valeurs résiduelles du logarithme des salaires qui intègre : 1) des rendements fluctuants des compétences non observées, 2) des distributions changeantes des compétences non observées, et 3) des changements dans la volatilité des salaires causés par des facteurs non liés aux compétences. -

La Banque du Canada annonce une réduction du montant minimum d’obligations à rendement nominal du gouvernement du Canada qu’elle achète aux adjudications
La Banque du Canada a annoncé aujourd’hui qu’elle porte de 14 % à 13 % le montant minimum d’obligations à rendement nominal qu’elle achète aux adjudications. Cette mesure entre en vigueur immédiatement. -
